Note & Ham, Student of the Week Awards, Mattayom 1

Last week Note (on the left in the photograph above) and Ham (on the right below) were joint winners of the Student of the Week Award for teacher Philip's Mattayom One class. Note is shown be presented his award by Jeff. Note and Ham worked well together on their Sports Day project and both have been showing very good writing skills.

Both these students try hard in class and their English has improved a lot of the year.

GUY, F & BAS, SPORTS DAY

In the morning at King's College and today is Sports Day.

The students got up at 6 O'clock today. The students are happy. We saw some students there that didn't like today because today is very cold. At 7 O'clock the students of all houses made a parade. They were very beautiful. The parade walked around the course. The Director of King's College liked the parade. The Director gave a gift of money to the students of all the houses.

Racing started and the gun is PUNG!! The runners are very fast!!
Near the course there were cheer-leaders. There cheers were a lot of fun.
In the evening Sports Day finished. House 1 was the winner of the year 2008.

SPORTS DAY, POL, Mattayom 1

SPORTS DAY BY POL M1. IEP

14 of January is the day of sport’s day. 4 houses will go to the outside yard. Today will have many runners who will run around the ground. I am going to run 8 X 50 and 4 X 200. It’s very exciting.

When the time comes P. is the first runner and is starting to run. I am the third runner. I will run very fast but everyone is finished and we are 4th.

Next time is 4 x 200. I am starting number 2. My friend is running very slowly and we finished 4th.

House 3 is the best house for cheering because house 3 have a parade, loud noise, etc.

In the evening everybody comes into the yard because the coach will talk about who was first at Sports Day.

The First in Prathom 5 was House 4
The First of 12 year old Runners was House 1
First of 14 year old Runners was House.
The first of sixteen year old runners was House 1.
The first of 18 year old runners was House 1.
The first of all runners was House 1.
The first for cheering was house 3.
At night house 3 ate the food which was yummy and we slept happily.

Jeff, Mattayom One, "STUDENT of the Half-SEMESTER'

This is Jeff! Jeff was the best student of Teacher Philip's class for the last half-semester. He scored the highest combined ovepointsr all in his speaking, listening, writing and reading tests. He is especially good at reading comprehension. Jeff works well in class and is an enthusiastic and polite student with a good sense of humour.

Jeff will need to keep studying well if he wants to stay Number One because there are a lot of other good students in his class, but he is very smart and will develop an excellent ability in English, I am sure.

GUY, Mattayom One, 'STUDENT of the WEEK'

Here's Guy!

At the end of the last half-semester Guy won the award for 'Student of the Week.' Excellent Guy!

Guy is a very smart student who has excellent ability in English. He was second for his tests in Teacher Philip's class and if he didn't talk in class so much he could do even better!!

Guy has a good sense of humour and writes very well. If he continues to work hard I am sure that his English skills will become very, very good!

TON, Mattayom One, 'STUDENT of the WEEK'

This is Ton. Recently he was the Mattayom One 'Student of the Week,' for Teacher Philip's class.

Ton is an ethusiastic hard-working student who wants to to do well. If he doesn't know the answer to something he always asks his teacher rather than just copy which helps him in his study.

Ton is a pleasure to teach because he is happy and very polite. Most importantly he always tries to do his best.

MARK Student of the Week Mattayom One

Mark was the winner of the Student of the Week Award for the week Ending 12th December 2008. Recently Mark did some of his best writing work of the year and scored within the Top Ten in his class. Mark is working very hard and his English has improved a lot. Here Mark (on the left) is being presented his certificate by the previous winner, Mos.

BEST STUDENT of the WEEK MATTAYOM ONE

Best was the best student in Teacher Ann's Mattayom 1 class for the week ending 21st November 2008.

Best always works well and he is a polite, happy student. He asks a lot of questions so he can finish his work and get everything correct.

Best's English is improving every week!

MOS Student of the Week Mattayom One

Mos won the Award for Student of the Week- Mattayom One- for the Week ending 14th November, 2008.
Mos is a quiet student but he works hard and he has excellent English skills. Recently Mos wrote the best English story of his class. This story will be posted shortly.

Best is a very polite and hardworking student. He always tries to do well and his English is getting a lot better.

Film 1 used to be a bad boy! But, now he works very hard and is always a cheerful student with an excellent sense of humour.

GAMES, Mattayom 1, Excellent English Writing

The picture story below (click to enlarge) was originally made to be used as a speaking test. However, we have used it as a test of writing skills with the students asked to write what has happened in the story. Before beginning the students are given help, depending on their ability, to write the story. For example at lower levels the students may be pre-taught the appropriate vocabulary and tense form, and given questions to answer to guide their story-telling.

Games has won an Excellent English Writing Certificate for his story below. His story not only used good English, but it is also creative and made his teacher laugh!

Once upon a time there was 1 man and 1 boy. They looked like father and son. On the way they saw trees. The trees said, "Hello." Father and son were very suprised and they didn't like that, so they ran away from that place.

They were very hungry. After they ran for 3 hours they saw a big river. Then they were fishing, but their fishing rod was broken. After that there was 1 elephant that saw they were sad. Then it helped them to fish. They were very happy.

But son still hungry, so he killed the elephant and ate it! Then he was full. Happy ending.
